The Queensland Police arrested, and later released, journalist Ben Grubb over an article on security and Facebook. His own account of the events makes for a good read, as do a few other blog posts and the Sydney Morning Herald’s coverage on the laws in question.

The article he was arrested for (‘Security experts go to war: wife targeted’) was about an AustCERT session he attended given by Christian Heinrich, where he demonstrated how it was possible to access content from a URL with an account ID and a lot of guessing. Ben used the altered image (since removed) in his article on the newspaper’s site. This is what he was arrested over, according to one of the many conflicting statements from official sources since the incident occurred.
